Hollywood Management Partner

Max Freedman, principal of Max Freedman Management, has a lifetime’s love for movies and an extensive background in media businesses. A screenwriter, director, producer and actor, who has published three books on digital moviemaking, Max launched MFM in 2002 and represents a small but growing group of screenwriters and filmmakers who work in many genres. Clients reside in the USA, Canada, Israel, and Germany. Max (pictured left) was born in St Louis, Missouri and is a graduate of Stanford University where he was recipient of the school’s only playwrighting scholarship. He is a published author of five college textbooks, written for Adobe Systems, with three on the subject of computer-based movie making; and a former advertising executive with a specialty in CGI (Computer Generated Imaging) 3D special effects.

Investor Relations

Paul Nicholls (pictured left) is an independent financial adviser and Managing Director of Nicholls & Associates. Paul’s wide client base has invested in both the film and the music industries in the past. He is currently planning to produce his second feature film in Canada next year having recently optioned a script from a Hollywood screenwriter - his first film having been Alexander Fodor’s 2007 version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Paul no stranger in front of the camera either, having starred in the recent hit music video Pendulum by the hip-hop band Slam. Paul has also attended the Cannes Film Festival where he continues to build his network of investors in the film and music worlds.

Legal Representation

Brian Eagles (pictured right) is head of Howard Kennedy’s Media & Entertainment group and has more than 30 years experience in the industry. Brian represents national and international clients, both corporate and personal, in the fields of film and television financing, production and distribution, broadcast and cable, music, theatre and sports. He also has significant experience in new media and internet issues. He is a founder trustee of several theatrical charities and talent represented in the film and TV world has included Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Ralph Richardson, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, Topol and Bruce Forsyth.

Financial Advisers & Accountants

Ken DiasOur financial adviser is Ken Dias (left) of Nyman Libson Paul Chartered Accountants. Ken’s principal area of interest is within the entertainment industry particularly focusing on the film and television sector. He has advised and assisted a number of film production companies on creating the appropriate tax structure both in the UK and overseas. He also has wide experience in the audit process and other requirements for the certification of British films and films made under recognised co-production treaties including negotiations with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). In recent years, he has assisted a number of film production clients including a major Hollywood studio in recovering significant amounts of VAT incurred in various EU countries.
