Hamlet
The first thing you’ll notice about this modern-day version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet is the way it has been visually realised by director Alexander Fodor. Overtly cinematic at times, swinging to almost conversational at another, only to become full-on documentary style in another scene. This highlights the overall approach to delivery of the text. A comment was made in post-production that the text had been changed - but not so. Working with the actors during weeks of rehersals, Fodor manages to pull the actors away from the natural tendency to deliver the lines as verse to one that sounds as if the actors are actually improvising.
